Choice gift cards - how does it work?
The Digital University of Twente Choice Gift Card is the online solution for giving gift cards. The gift cards are sent digitally to the recipient's email address with your personal message. The recipients can then choose themselves from more than 20 different digital gift card providers, like gift cards for bol.com, HEMA, ICI PARIS XL, Rituals, book vouchers, Podium cards, wellness and many more. Available in 10, 15, 25, 30 and 50 euro. With this digital way of giving, we prevent the use of the well-known plastic gift cards and contribute to the sustainable mission.
Please note! The gift card itself is only sent digitally (by e-mail). If you also want to hand over a personal card, use one of the PDFs below. You can print it yourself (via Xerox) and provide it with a personal written message:

This is how it works:
Order
1. You can order the desired value and quantity of your gift card(s) via our website.
2. When ordering, enter the email address of the person who will be giving the gift cards in the free text field (in case of ordering via ProActis, in case of orders for personal use, the person who orders the gift card is automatically seen as the 'giver'). Please note: a Yesty account will be created at this email address. After the cards have been linked to the account of this email address, it can no longer be changed to another email address or account.
3. An email will be sent to the given email address of the giver with your personal Yesty account login details. Yesty is the gift card platform from which the gift cards are sent. With subsequent orders, the cards will be added to your Yesty account. Note: please check your SPAM box, as emails from Yesty can end up there.
Personalise
4. The gift cards are ready to send in the Yesty account. Enter the email address of the recipient(s) here and personalize by adding a personal message (not required). You can change the standard image of University of Twente to your own image or even upload a video here.
Send
5. Click on 'Activate gift cards' and send the Gift card. The advice is to activate the gift card right before you send the gift card via the Yesty platform, and not earlier. The activated gift cards are valid for 2 years from the date of activation. In case of digital gift cards, the gift card is automatically activated once you send it to the receiver.
Receive & Choose
6. The recipient will be notified by email that he or she has received a gift card and will see the personal message on the Yesty platform that you entered (text and (changed) image). Please notify the recipient to check their SPAM box as well, as emails from Yesty might end up there.
7. The recipient chooses a gift card of their choice from a selection of more than 20 different gift card providers.
Frequently asked questions
Through which platform are the gift cards sent?
This is sent via Yesty, an online digital gift card platform, in collaboration with University of Twente.
How long does it take before the digital gift cards appear in my Yesty account?
These will be added to your Yesty account within 2 working days. If you need it sooner, please contact service@unigear.nl.
Do I need to activate the cards?
Before you send the cards digitally, you must first activate them. This is a mandatory step before you can send it. The advice is to activate the gift card right before you send the gift card via the Yesty platform, and not earlier.
What is the validity period of the cards
The validity period of the University of Twente Choice Gift Card is 2 years. In addition, the recipient has an additional validity period of the gift card from the gift card provider of his or her choice (minimum 2 years).
Can I upload a list of recipients instead of entering it manually?
Yes, this is possible from 25 email addresses. Send an email to service@unigear.nl with the order number of the gift cards and the list of email addresses of the recipients (please send encrypted)

Is the platform also available in English for the recipient?
Yes, the essential part of the platform is also available in English.
Can the recipient also donate their gift card to a good cause?
Yes, that is possible via the Eco Dots option.
The recipient I want to give the gift card lives abroad. Is an international gift card available?
These are available, but must be ordered separately. Please contact service@unigear.nl for this.
